This weekend our friends Kelli & Jeff came to visit. It was their first visit to our new house and we were so excited to have them. Friday night when they arrived we just hung out at the house and cooked out. Our friends Jessie and Jason also came over for dinner. Kel's birthday was a couple weeks ago and since I hadn't seen her since her birthday I made her a special birthday cake in true Kelli fashion -
Oreo Ice Cream Cake!!
It was seriously the easiest cake I've ever made and might top the list as the best!
Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to campus to start tailgating for the FSU vs.Wake Forest football game. Jeff played football for the Deacons, so it's always pretty cool to go to this game with them. This definitely wasn't the Deacs year as Florida State shut them out. Kelli and I were over the game {hot, sweaty weather} and ended up leaving before halftime. We went to Mellow Mushroom and watched the rest of the game in the air condition and waited on the boys after the game got over.
After we left the stadium we headed home, took some naps and watched some more football. Saturday night we went up to Thomasville, GA to eat at one of our favorite restaurants - Jonah's. Kel & Jeff appreciate a good meal just as much as Todd and I, so I knew they would love Jonah's.
Jonah's was featured in Southern Living back in 2010 and are known for their Shrimp & White Cheddar Grits - pictured below.
Todd got the Shrimp & Grits and like always they didn't disappoint!
We all left too stuffed for words! We had a pretty laid back weekend, and it was nice being able to enjoy each others company without being on the go the entire time. We can't wait for them to visit again, hopefully very soon :)
